The Good Zoo at Oglebay Resort & Conference Center has been a crown jewel of the Ohio Valley for over 30 years. We are pleased to support its mission through the first ever Good Zoo Brew.
Visitors of all ages will find something pleasing at our zoo which is dedicated to the memory of a seven-year-old boy named Philip Mayer Good, who loved nature.
For the first time in the zoo’s history, zebras are grazing on the grounds of the Good Zoo! Visitors will be able to see two species, the common Grant’s zebra, and the endangered Grevy’s zebra. The zebras are a permanent addition to the zoo’s growing collection of rare and unique species. They are exhibited in the ostrich field along with our 3 ostriches, and may be viewed from either the train or the ostrich viewing area.
Visit our Outback Exhibit, featuring kangaroos and wallabies, and stop next door at Lorikeet Landing where you can feed these friendly parrots right from your hand!
See the new wild African dogs and watch the playful river otters. See the South American spectacled bears, plus an ocelot, red pandas and tamarin monkeys. And, don’t miss the meerkats and naked molerats!
The indoor Discovery Lab is designed to make learning about animals fun and easy for children. It includes a variety of hands on activities as well as animal exhibits such as the colorful poison dart frog and tiger salamander.
