Questions?

Q: Where do I get my tickets?
A: You won’t receive tickets to the event.  Once you register online, you’ll receive an email confirming your registration and payment.  If you want, you can print out the receipt and bring it with you, but as long as you receive that email, you’re set – just come to the Good Zoo around 7:00 on June 25th and they’ll cross your name off the list and give you your tasting ticket and mug.

Q: The address is Rt. 88N, Wheeling, WV.  How do I get to the Zoo?
A: Unless you’re taking back roads, you’ll probably be heading up Rt. 88N.  The Good Zoo will be the first Oglebay Resort & Conference Center exit, marked with a brown sign (just past the Wheeling Country Club at the top of the hill).  Turn there, bear right, and you’ll run into the Zoo in less than 1/10 of a mile.  Here are two great resources from Oglebay:

Q: What’s the sample size?
A: Samples are 4 ounces, which fit perfectly into your sampler mugs that hold 5 ounces with a little room to spare while you walk around looking at the bears, otters, and zebras.

Q: Do I get to walk around the Zoo?
A: Yes.  A few of the sections like the barn, wetlands, and lemurs will be closed, but you’re welcome to walk around the main building (including meerkats, turtles, naked mole rats, birds, fish, tree frogs, snakes, and more), the bear / otter section, new zebra exhibit, and the lorikeets sections.

Q: Train rides?
A: As long as the weather’s good – and forecasts are positive – we’re planning on offering train rides past the zebras and other parts of the zoo.

Q: How much beer do I get exactly?
A: At the registration table you’ll receive a tasting card good for eight (8) tastings, with each tasting size being four (4) ounces.  You can use card for whichever beers you prefer, subject to availability.  You’ll also have the ability to purchase additional 4-sample tasting cards for $6.  At the end of the night, you can also purchase make-your-own six-packs for home consumption for $10.  Buy three (3) and get the fourth for free.  Beers subject to availability.

Q: What should I wear?
A: We envision the event as casual, but if you want to put on your tails or ball gown, go for it.
